What does a SkinPen treatment do?

Instead of manually moving a rolling pin covered in tiny needles across the skin, your aesthetician will power up the SkinPen, and use its 14-tip needle head to produce 98,000 micro-punctures to the skin per minute.
These temporary small micro-punctures, or micro-injuries as we call them, will activate your body’s natural wound-healing process and increase collagen and elastin production – both integral to your skin’s structure. As a result of this remodelling process, your skin will look brighter, healthier and more youthful after just one treatment.

SkinPen: What to expect during your treatment
If you are interested in SkinPen Microneedling in Bromley, we’ll first book you in for a consultation. Our SkinPen consultations cost £15, which we’ll deduct from your first Microneedling treatment. During the consultation, we will assess your skin and establish if it’s the right treatment for you, talking you through the entire process and expected results.
You’ll have the option to apply a topical numbing cream to your skin before the treatment. It isn’t essential, but it does help some clients feel more relaxed and comfortable during the SkinPen Microneedling treatment. With numbing cream applied, the treatment will take approximately 45-60 minutes. If you skip the numbing cream, your appointment will take around 30 minutes.
SkinPen: The Treatment
Before we begin, we will apply a specially formulated gel to the treatment area to allow the SkinPen handpiece to glide smoothly across the skin. Once you’re happy to start, we’ll turn the machine on, and you’ll notice it sounds like an electric toothbrush. The tiny needles will pulse out of the handpiece and create thousands of tiny micro-injuries as it’s moved over your skin. Most clients report minimal discomfort from SkinPen Microneedling and say it feels like a light scratch on the skin’s surface. We’ll check in with you throughout your treatment to ensure you’re still comfortable and happy.
SkinPen: Post-Treatment & Results
One of the benefits of SkinPen Microneedling in Bromley is that downtime is minimal. In most cases, you will look like you have a little mild sunburn. Your skin may also feel tighter and more sensitive than usual. This feeling is perfectly normal and should subside (along with any redness) within 24 hours.
To be on the safe side, we recommend that all SkinPen clients avoid drinking alcohol or participating in vigorous exercise for 48 hours post-treatment. Please don’t sunbathe or expose your skin to sun or extreme temperatures for at least 14 days.
