Microblading & PMU

Bespoke Microblading & Permanent Makeup

TO SUIT EVERY TYPE OF FACE, SKIN AND HAIR COLOUR

Microblading, Micropigmentation, Cosmetic Tattooing are all different names used to describe different methods of implanting hypoallergenic pigment under the skin using needles.

I offer Microblading & Micropigmentation in Bromley & London Victoria – where I create perfectly filled in and balanced semi-permanent eyebrows. Microblading means no more filling in brows every day and perfect if you play sports or swim.

In a similar way that tattoos add pigmentation into the skin, microblading does the same but does not go so deeply.  It fades over time and can last for up to two years. Clients opting for microblading, are recommended to top up annually with a colour boost to ensure the perfect colour and shape of new brows.  This way, you always know that your brows look amazing, from the time you get out of bed in the morning to when you sleep at night.

Microblading is performed by using a hand tool known as a microblading pen and has tiny needles attached to it. Each hair stroke is drawn onto the eyebrow to achieve a natural and precise look.  Your brows will never look unnatural and will be toned to match your skin, hair and age.  As the marks made with the pen are very light and not deep, the process is virtually painless.

Micropigmentation also known as PMU is a tattooing process where I use a state of the art digital machine to permanently beautify you.

Brows, eyeliner and lips – Wake up looking your best

Combination brows – hair strokes and shading or Ombre brows – options available with PMU – Perfect for people with little to no hair, areas that are sparse or those with oily skin. No more applying and reapplying, smudging makeup or spending so much time pencilling in your brows every morning.

Wake up ready!

Eyeliner / Lash line enhancement

Enhance your eyes with smudge free liner! From creating thicker, fuller eye lashes by adding tiny dots of pigment between each eyelash to a more bespoke defined permanent eyeliner. This eye treatment will be the best decision you make.

Lips

Semi-Permanent makeup for lips creates lasting fuller lips and for some can create the illusion of a fuller lip. It can transform thin or uneven lips by changing the shape and size and creating volume that gives a youthful look.

Together we will choose the right colour to suit you from a wide range  starting from natural nudes or blush to a bright red! You can choose from lip liner, a blush of colour or full lips.

Is permanent makeup right for you? If you can relate to any of the following, then the answer is yes!

  • Sparse Lashes
  • Contact Lenses Wearers
  • Unsymmetrical Features
  • Busy lifestyle
  • Thin looking lips
  • Poor Vision People
  • Hypersensitivity to Conventional Makeup
  • Watery eyes or sensitivity to eye cosmetics
  • Ageing
  • Over plucked brows

How the process works

Once you have decided you are ready for new brows – Get in touch and I will arrange a patch test either in person or by post.

At your appointment a full consultation will take place to decide upon the shape, thickness and colour of your new eyebrows, ensuring you are completely happy before we start. During the treatment procedure a numbing cream is used to numb the area so clients feel very little pain.

Before your treatment

  • Do not exercise 24 hours before procedure.
  • NO alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).
  • Avoid sun and tanning 30 days prior to procedure.
  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.
  • Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, and “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements 24 hours prior to procedure.
  • Discontinue Retin-A 4 weeks prior.
  • Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after your procedure.
  • Refrain from mood-altering drugs for at least 24 hours prior to any procedure.
  • If you are not allergic to Benadryl, you make take one the night before and the morning of the procedure, which may help control swelling.
  • Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
  • No doctor prescribed medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician.

Aftercare

  •  After the treatment – Clean the area every 2 hours using a damp cotton pad or Q Tip – Pat dry and apply a very thin layer of the cream provided. (An almost transparent layer)
  • For the following 4 days – Wash the area twice daily (morning & evening) using a gentle soap or baby shampoo.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water and then using tepid water, gently cleanse the area in a circular motion using light fingertips.
  • Pat dry and apply the aftercare cream.
  • DO NOT get the area too soggy or wet – The wound needs to dry up.
  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. You must let any scabbing or dry skin exfoliate naturally.
  • Picking can cause infection, scarring and pigment loss!
  • Completely avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change colour and in some cases cause scarring.
  • Avoid the following for 2 weeks:Pools, saunas, steam rooms, sweating, hot showers/baths, makeup or skincare on the brow area, AHA’s,Retin-A and hydrocortisone.
  • Eyebrow tinting should be avoided for 4 weeks post treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions?

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow tattoo performed with a small handheld tool, using a feather stroke technique to produce the appearance of hair strokes to enhance your brows.

What is Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation is also a semi permanent brow tattoo but it is performed with a digital tattoo machine that can offer a variety of options included shading to add depth, ombre brows and combination brows.

How long does it last?

The pigments used are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to colour and shape over the years as the client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur. On average a colour boost top up is required every 12-18 months. In some cases 24 months depending on your requirements.

Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant?

As a precaution to avoid any complications, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant women.

What kind of products and equipment do you use?

To ensure the highest quality of safety, all of our tools are one time use only. ALL blades, hand tools, wipes, and any other product used during the procedure are disposed of as biohazardous waste after each appointment, giving each client peace of mind.

How long is the appointment?

For your first time we book a 3 hour appointment so you won’t be rushed at any point. It often take less time. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and colour. The actual procedure itself takes 30 mins to an hour. The touch-up appointment will take about 90 minutes.

Is the follow up appointment included in the initial cost?

In order to ensure that the brows heal perfectly a minimum of two treatments are usually needed 6-8 weeks apart on average. This first touch-up is included as it gives us the ability to correct any areas that possibly faded or allows the client to make suggestions if they want adjustments with the shape or colour.

Does it hurt?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading/Micropigmentation begins, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area to minimise discomfort, followed by a liquid anaesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain free for most. (PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

Can I exercise after my semi permanent makeup?

You must avoid working out for 5-7 days following your microblading appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you must clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.
