How the process works
After cleansing the skin, a carbon paste is applied to the face like a mask and left to dry for 10-15 minutes. The high intensity pulses of light delivered from the Nd: YAG laser are then used to destroy any dirt and debris clogging the pores. At the same time, the state of the art laser treatment works to reduce oil secretion. It also stimulates the skin to produce more collagen, which helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Who can’t have this treatment?
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Anyone with severe kidney or liver problems/disease
- Permanent use of blood thinning medication
Aftercare
- Avoid alcohol and vigorous exercise for 48hrs
- Avoid sunbathing, sun exposure and extreme heat or cold for 14 days post treatment
- Bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising
- It is advisable to avoid aspirin for 12 -48hrs after treatment
- Any tenderness should settle as swelling/bruising goes down.
