02 Nov 5 tips to help you dream big (& some exciting news!)
I don’t know about you but I believe that if you want to make your dreams a reality, you need to set goals.
Setting goals, in the form of a mental or physical checklist, is a great way to determine a clear path to success. It’s something you can continually refer back to, to examine your progress, and the best way to hold yourself accountable.
Every year, I set myself goals, both in my career and other aspects of my life. I find list writing and moodboard creation particularly therapeutic. They spark inspiration, encourage me to aim higher and allow me to keep track of all I’ve achieved.
I’m really proud of how far I’ve come with my business but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop setting goals. I’m always looking to better myself, learn new things, adopt new skills and take my business to the next level. Working towards goals excites me and is the drive I need to make my dreams come true.
Whether you are looking to advance in your current job, make a career change or work towards a personal dream, adopting this mindset can help you too. Here I’ve shared some of my top tips for dreaming big, setting goals and achieving what you want in life…
1. Don’t limit yourself
I think I’ll start with one of my most important tips and that’s to never put a limit on what you think you can do. A lot of people have no idea what they’re capable of and can’t see their own potential. With hard work, determination and smart goals, anything is possible! Have confidence in yourself and your ability. Aim high and dare to uncover your true potential.
2. Set smart goals
Dreaming big is the first step but you need a path of progression to follow. Breaking down bigger goals into smaller chunks will make your overall dream more attainable. Goals should be small and realistic. With each goal, set yourself a timescale of which you hope to achieve them by.
Setting and achieving smaller goals will provide continuous motivation for you to work towards your dreams. Don’t forget to celebrate each milestone and recognise that you’re yet another step closer to your ‘end goal.’
3. Track your progress
One of the reasons I like making lists is it helps me to track my progress. I can tick things off that I’ve done and see what else I need to do to achieve my goals.
If you aren’t progressing as well as you’d like to, it doesn’t mean you should give up. Rather, re-assess and find another way to tackle the step. It’s okay if you’re not exactly where you want to be – unforeseen hurdles can be hard to jump but with hard work, dedication and a little patience, you’ll get there.
4. Build a support network
Remember, you haven’t got to do everything alone! It’s okay to lean on friends, family and co-workers for support. It’s a great idea to get a mentor and it’s fantastic if you can surround yourself with other people looking to achieve similar goals. The more positive influences you have and people championing you, the better!
5. Take action. Start now!
As much as I love making lists and creating moodboards, it’s no good if you don’t take action right after you finish drawing up your goals. The sooner you start, the better! Remember, every little thing you do to work towards your goals counts. No matter how small the step!
Is there a promotion coming up at work? Go for it. Thinking of taking up a new fitness class? Sign up! Unhappy in your current job and dreaming of a new venture? Make the change. It’s within your power to do it.
Training Academy re-launch
Speaking of new ventures, one of the reasons I wanted to share this post with you, is that I’m re-launching my training academy! It’s been in the pipeline for a while and I can finally reveal that as well as lash training, I’ll be offering a wide range of other courses, including Dermaplaning – one of the most in-demand treatments right now.
If you have an interest in beauty and have a career change as one of your goals, this is your sign that it’s your time to invest in yourself and achieve your dreams!
Keep an eye on my website and social media pages for more info on the Training Academy. Or if you can’t wait to sign up (good on you) drop me an email: hello@beckylaroc.co.uk and we can chat about what you’re looking to achieve and how my training courses can help.
I hope you’re as excited as I am!
