A Guide to Dermal Fillers in Kent

We’re back with yet another exciting treatment to add to our Bromley beauty salon menu – Dermal Fillers!

Over the last few years, Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler Injections have become increasingly popular with those looking to reverse the signs of ageing. Here at Becky Laroc Beauty & Aesthetics, we’re all about keeping things natural and are, therefore, offering fillers to our clients as a way of enhancing their beautiful features and making a few tiny tweaks here and there. If you’re interested in having Dermal Fillers in Kent, read on to find out what to expect…

What do Dermal Fillers do?

Ageing is a fact of life and unfortunately, one of the first things to change is our skin. As we get older, the key elements that give our skin a youthful appearance begin to disappear. These are: collagen – the support protein for our skin, elastin – essential to keep the skin firm and wrinkle-free and hyaluronic acid, which traps water and adds volume.

The benefit of injectable dermal fillers is that they give our skin a boost of hyaluronic acid, so it immediately look plumper and more youthful.

Dermal fillers can be injected into the lips, nose to mouth lines (nasolabial) and marionette lines.

Lip fillers in Bromley

Lip fillers essentially plump the lips and make them appear fuller. This can be particularly beneficial for:

  • People with thin lips (a common sign of ageing)
  • Those with naturally uneven lips
  • Those who have had permanent lip liner work that perhaps is a little off balance

Kent nasolabial and marionette fillers

In addition to lip fillers, we also offer nasolabial and marionette dermal fillers at our Bromley beauty salon. These are the nose to mouth lines and the creases that appear from the outer corners of the lips to the outer corners of the chin. Dermal fillers help to smooth the appearance of the lines and wrinkles, making them less obvious.

Are they safe?

Dermal fillers are very safe treatment for most people. It’s important to make sure you have the treatment done by a fully qualified practitioner, like Becky at our Bromley salon. Becky has undergone the necessary dermal fillers training to offer a safe and effective treatment.

Like with many treatments, there will be some clients who are not suitable for dermal fillers. These include:

  • Those who are allergic to hyaluronic acid or mannitol
  • Those taking antibiotics or undergoing chemotherapy
  • Those who suffer from severe skin inflammation
  • Those susceptible to keloid scarring
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women

An experienced and professional practitioner will carry out a full consultation to make sure that dermal fillers are not only safe for you to have but also the most beneficial skin treatment.

What to expect from Dermal Fillers in Kent

After you have had a full consultation, Becky will book you in for the injectables, which will take around 30 minutes. The specialist method Becky has been taught causes minimal discomfort. This means there is no need for numbing cream. It does little to help anyway, as it numbs the top layer of skin, rather than the deeper levels that will be injected.

Once your dermal filler has been injected, you may want to apply a cold compress. This will ease any discomfort and reduce the swelling. In most cases, the swelling will reduce within 24-48 hours, however it can be as long as a couple of weeks, in some people.

Results are instant and there’s very little downtime involved. You’ll leave the salon with natural-looking fuller lips or smoother lines. It’s best to avoid touching the treated area for the first 6 hours and make sure you follow our after care advice, which can be found here.

Dermal Fillers Cost

Our dermal fillers in Kent cost between £180 and £220 depending on the type of treatment you require. We offer 1.1ml and 2ml dermal fillers for lips and 1.1ml for nose to mouth lines (nasolabials) and marionettes.

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

One of the great things about Dermal Fillers is that you’ll notice a difference straight away. What’s more, results will last anywhere between 6 to 12 months, before you’ll need another treatment. The longevity largely depends on the type of injectable dermal filler used. We work with several, including Monalisa, Singfiller and our favourite, Extra, a malleable filler that allows for perfect placement.
