What is the best option for PMU brows in Bromley?

If you’re searching for PMU brows in Bromley, look no further! At Becky Laroc Beauty & Aesthetics, we specialise in various permanent makeup treatments for brows, lips and lash lines, as well as PMU removal treatments including Li-FT saline tattoo removal and laser tattoo removal.

Our most popular permanent makeup treatments are PMU brows, including microblading, combination brows and powder brows. This guide will help you decide which option is best for you.

What is PMU for eyebrows?

PMU stands for permanent makeup and is a semi-permanent tattooing treatment that involves adding pigment to the brow area.

PMU brows can also be referred to as machine brows or powder brows. The treatment is beneficial for clients who want to enhance or change the shape of their brows, add colour and depth or create the illusion of eyebrows where there is little-to-no brow hair.

PMU brows and microblading both involve adding a medical-grade pigment to the brow area but the technique is very different.

Microblading involves using a special microblading pen to create fine hair strokes individually. This PMU treatment is best for clients who want to add definition to their natural brows or fill in any gaps. It has really natural-looking results and is suitable for clients with normal to dry skin.

For PMU brows, a tattooing machine is used to create powder brows or an ombre brow effect. PMU brows are best suited to people with little-to-no brow hair, as well as clients with patchy brows and sparse areas. Even clients with oily skin can benefit from our powder brows treatment.

At our Bromley clinic, we offer three main types of permanent brows: microblading, combination brows, and powder brows. Here’s a quick overview:

  • Microblading: Ideal for adding definition and filling in gaps. Best for normal to dry skin.
  • Powder Brows: Perfect for those with sparse or oily skin, offering a soft, shaded look.
  • Combination Brows: A blend of microblading and powder brows for a natural yet defined appearance.

What to expect when you get permanent makeup?

We’ll start by saying it’s perfectly normal not to fall in love with your PMU brows instantly. Just like any tattoo, your PMU brows need to go through the healing process before you can appreciate their full effect.

When you book PMU brows in Bromley, at our clinic, you will first undergo a patch test to check this treatment is suitable for you. Providing all is okay, we’ll get you booked in for a consultation with our permanent makeup artist, Becky Laroc. Becky will assess your natural brows, talk to you about your dream brows including the shape, thickness and colour, and explain the process of achieving them. Once you’re happy, Becky will spend time measuring and drawing your symmetrical brows and apply a numbing cream to make you more comfortable during the PMU procedure.

The actual microblading or machine tattooing procedure will take 30 minutes to an hour. Becky will also spend time talking you through the PMU after care procedure, details of which can be found on our Microblading & PMU eyebrows treatment page.

How long do PMU brows take to heal?

It can take up to 28 days before you can see the full effect of your PMU brows. Around this time, we recommend booking your second PMU appointment with us, so we can make any tweaks.

It’s important to remember that your PMU brows need to heal. The colour will appear darker and more intense at first but will lighten over the coming days. You will also experience a little patchiness and scabbing before your PMU brows heal and look absolutely incredible!

At our aesthetics clinic in Bromley, we include a 4-8 week top-up session within the price of the PMU treatment. This top-up session allows us to correct any areas of your PMU brows that may have faded a little and allows you, the client, to request any slight adjustments to the shape or colour.

How long does permanent makeup last on eyebrows?

Your permanent makeup brows will likely last around 12 months before they require a top-up treatment.

The pigments used for microblading and PMU brows gently fade over time. This is important as it means you can make tweaks to the colour and shape of your brows as facial changes occur. We recommend our PMU clients book a colour boost top-up every 12 months to maintain their brows. This is much cheaper than booking a fresh PMU brows treatment. If clients wish to leave their PMU brows a little longer, we also offer a 13-18 month top up treatment price.
